HAQIEM RUSLI’ LIFE
Haqiem was born and raised in Hulu Langat, Selangor. He is the son of Rusli Abdul Manaf and Nazrah Ahmad Nordin and the third child of four siblings. He received his early education at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bukit Raya and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Dusun Nanding, Hulu Langat, Selangor.His youngest brother, Zali Rusli is also involved in music.
HIS ACHIEVEMENT
Haqiem Rusli first established himself in the country's music industry when he was 10 years old when he participated in a children's singing competition, Idola Kecil (TV9) first season in 2008 and managed to become a runner-up.He continued his art journey by joining the group The Beesings, which started his career in 2012 and originally consisted of five members namely Haqiem himself, Azzam Sham, Fimie Don, Didi Astillah and Aida Ross. Then in 2014, Haqiem participated in the Idola Kecil Ultra (TV9) singing competition which is a singing show that combines former champions and selected participants of Idola Kecil from season one to season six to return to one stage. However, Haqiem did not make it to the finals. At the end of the same year she participated in another singing competition featuring a group of teenagers on TV9 Pop Krew, a reality show showcasing the talents of versatile teenagers who can sing and dance. Haqiem is a member of the Novemboys group which is a protege of singer Tomok and won the competition. Haqiem joined TV3’s reality singing program, Mentor Milenia 2016 using the stage name Haq. He auditioned for Black's mentor and was successfully listed as one of the best participants besides Qody and Wanie who will be chosen as Black's protégés. During the deciding performance, Haqiem sang Judika’s original song “Bukan Dia Tapi Aku”, but was unsuccessfully selected as Black’s protégé at the performance.However in 2016, Haqiem had signed a contract to be under the auspices of recording company FMC Music (Fantasia Music City). After two years as an artist under the record label, he managed to release several hit singles including "Segalanya", "Tergantung Sepi" and "Jatuh Bangun" (duet with Aman RA).Haqiem qualified for the semi-finals of the 32nd Song Champion Award (AJL32) through two songs, "Segalanya" and "Tergantung Sepi", but only the song "Tergantung Sepi" made it to the finals and luck was on Haqiem's side when the song was created. Ibn and Gouffran managed to win third place. Her first album, Everything was released in April 2018 featuring 8 songs including an English -language song, “Qiemillio”. In addition, Haqiem also participated in the Fantastik 4 Hot FM program, an ‘on-air’ and digital singing reality program organized entirely by Hot FM. Haqiem managed to become the champion in the first and fourth weeks, but did not manage to become the overall champion.He was also entrusted by Astro Ria to sing the theme song of the MeleTOP Era Awards 2018 (AME2018) entitled "Meletop", a collaboration with Aziz Harun and Alif.Haqiem once again managed to bring two songs to the semi-finals of the 33rd Song Champion Award, namely "Selamat Tinggal Sayang" and "Jatuh Bangun" in collaboration with Aman RA. But just like last year, only one song, "Jatuh Bangun" made it to the finals.Since getting involved in the music industry, Haqiem has not only created songs for himself but he has also produced songs for other popular singers such as Sufi Rashid, Tajul Ariff and Usop. His efforts paid off when his talent was recognized by the Malaysian Copyright Protection Body (MACP) by winning the 2019 Potential Young Composer Award. Haqiem also received a special award from Astro in the Rising Composer category at the 2019 Throwbaek Concert.Haqiem successfully qualified for the 34th Song Champion Awards (AJL34) stage through the song “Lonely Valley”, and his song managed to win the Set Fan Choice Award which was selected through voting in the Set app, starting January 30, 2020.
